"Lovely place that we found by accident. Nice staffs, I loved the selection of tableware (the cups, the plates…) in Japanese style, I can feel the dedication on that. The pastry and the drink was very nice (at least first through the appearance :) Caffe latte vegan was too much bitter for me and I had to ask for additional milk. I think because it’s vegan so it couldn’t reach the creamy soft taste of normal latte. Citron cake would be better if it’s less sour. Sesame cake was tasty. All the cake has the base of Dorayaki that was made live, I loved it. The parfait was a huge portion of jelly, icecream, cream, red bean…Was nice also. The space was lovely but small. We were lucky to have a table but would be better if it’s larger so could accommodate more guests."
"Japanese staff used to work in this Japanese desert restaurant. The staff are very good at making deserts and they are very friendly."
"take note that there are very limited seats in this shop - at most it’s around 12 seats total. if you want to properly sit and chat for hours - i would recommend the other Tomo branch instead. I went to the other branch over the river before visiting to this one. this branch offers different things - they have dango, taiyaki, omurice, parfait!! - and they have the dorayakis that is available in the other branch as well. i had the citron dorayaki and the black sesame daifuku at the other branch. they’re both very good. the citron dorayaki is very refreshing - if you’re someone that doesn’t like sour flavours, this wouldn’t be something for you. they’re both very well balanced and not too sweet. for my trip to this branch, i was so bummed that i was too full to have the parfait, it looked really good i had just a matcha with water (Usucha) instead. it is definitely on the pricey side but thankfully, this one was very well made. The flavour profile is a bit vegetal but refreshing - especially after all the heavy French foods, it was a very nice change. i would definitely come back again for my next visit to try the parfaits!"
"I stumbled upon this adorable Japanese cafe in Paris recently, and I couldn’t resist trying their amazing desserts. The presentation alone was so delightful that it felt like a feast for the eyes, and the taste did not disappoint. Wow, the flavors were absolutely delicious! Speaking of the cafe, I couldn’t help but chuckle when I saw a guy with his laptop sitting right in front of the sign clearly stating “No laptop use in the cafe.” Guess he was trying to challenge the rules with a touch of rebellious creativity. Talk about a true digital ninja! In summary, if you’re looking for a cute cafe with mouthwatering Japanese desserts, this place is a must-visit. Just remember to leave your laptop at home and fully immerse yourself in the sweet delights they have to offer."
"FOOD & DRINKS They offer sweet items as well as savory dishes. I went for the parfait because it was a pretty hot day. If the parfait had a cold element it would have been great. Other than that it was still yummy. SERVICE Staff was nice and friendly. ATMOSPHERE The little café definitely has its charme. RATING I definitely want to come back to try out the omurice."
"It’s been a month since I moved to Paris and I’ve been to this Tomo branch 4 times so far, 10 minutes walk from my apartment. I feel really lucky to have this cafe in my area as I’d been studying+ living in Tokyo for 6 years and I really miss things in Japan. I’m really impressed by their high-end dorayaki, because dorayaki used to be a very common mass produced dessert in Japan, it’s that type of snack you can find at supermarkets and convenience stores with a bag of multiple pieces, which was never my favorite( it’s also Japan national or worldly? famous manga character, the robot cat Doraemon’s favorite snack)…… but Tomo enhance Dorayaki in many ways, I’ve tried made-to-order freshly made on site matcha red bean dorayaki, opera dorayaki, lemon dorayaki and strawberry dorayaki…..honestly they are the best dorayakis I’ve ever tasted! They also offer a good range of teas (both hot and cold), chocolate and coffee. My another top favorite is their seasonal parfait, comes with matcha, black sesame, hojicha and gen matcha flavors, you can choose any of them with eyes closed, highly recommend. My husband who had been living in Tokyo for 5 years especially love their matcha daifuku, and we both want to try their other stuff, for example their savory selections - omurice and Japanese curry rice….we both can see Tomo will be one of our regular stops. Highly recommend!!!!!!! P/S: if you like their stuff, follow them on Instagram for latest update as they have seasonal selections and also sell authentic Japanese accessories from time to time."
"Lovely to finally have the finest japanese (and fusion) desserts on the left bank! I tried the matcha parfait, it tasted good and not tooo sweet -they ran out of red bean paste and replaced it with other ingredients, which probably reduced the sweetness, perfect to me-. The staff was friendly and the place beautiful. There are about 6 seats in so definitely worth coming at a quiet -weekday- time if you want to sit, as the neighborhood is very busy on week ends. The parfait cost 12€, quite pricy to be honest, but it is rare to find any of the kind in Paris. They are prepared until 5:30pm so beware!"
"I wanted a japanese dessert and found this place in google maps. I totally totally loved it. Even ordered a second dessert after first one cause it was so delicioous. They gave me a cute sakura passeport to visit other japanese shops in the area. Staff were also super friendly. I will definitely go back when I'm back in Paris."
